http://canadarox.com/logger/

This is a database of results of games from a variety of different PC servers. The most relevant would be the Pro Mod 3.2(http://www.l4d2pro.com/index.html) and the Pro Mod HR 3.2. Obviously our "confogl" is a poor imitation in comparison but its interesting to look at how much the pc competitive players actually make saferooms. Since everyone plays either Carnie, Parish or Dead Air on xbox here is a summary from Pro Mod 3.2:

Dark Carnival: There were 456 rounds(chapters) played of which there were 357(78.3%) wipes and 78(17.1%) where everyone made it. Carnie 1 had a 60.2% wipe, 32.3% all survived
Carnie 2 had a 80.4% wipe, 16.8% all survived
Carnie 3 had a 93.8% wipe, 4.1% all survived
Carnie 4 had a 79.1% wipe, 15.1% all survived
Carnie 5 had a 97% wipe, 0.0% all survived

The Parish: There were 490 rounds played of which 363 (74.1%) were wipes and 100 (20.4%) where everyone survived.
Parish 1: 41.9% wipe, 49.2% all survived
Parish 2: 78.5% wipe, 17.4% all survived
Parish 3: 80.5% wipe, 13.3% all survived
Parish 4: 93.8% wipe, 3.1% all survived
Parish 5: 97.2% wipe, 0.0% all survived

Dead Air: There were 196 rounds played of which 166 (84.7%) were wipes and 19 (9.7%) where everyone survived.
Dead Air 1: 58.7% wipe, 23.9% all survived
Dead Air 2: 100% wipe, 0.0% all survived
Dead Air 3: 88.6% wipe, 6.8% all survived
Dead Air 4: 87.2% wipe, 19.9% all survived
Dead Air 5: 96% wipe, 0.0% all survived

The sample size for the HR version is pretty small but the wipe % is actually higher overall lol.

tldr; Basically playing SPO is boring and pointless to play on xbox when you consider PC kids are wiping ALOT of the time even though they have 4 extra pills that they can pick up and use, and even when they make saferooms they only have 0.06 pills on average. The only chapters we should only even consider using SPO is Parish 1 and thats all we get anyway lol
I have been a long time advocate for all health, and more recently NO throwables what so ever. The boomer bile is basically only used now solely to boomer bile the tank and get cheap chip, and the pipebomb is only used to make crescendo horde easier or eliminate a good boom during a tank. I would just like to get to the point where the 2nd team on Carnie doesn't rage quit the game before their turn on finale because they are losing by 401 points.

Good point and I agree. Recently we've been playing no pills Parish 1 and finale... May consider changing it to SPO all maps.

"Bunny Hopping disabled for Tank only"
Didn't know they changed that XD I have yet to see a bunny-hopping tank!

And I think Dave is trying to point out that SPO is bad because even PC kids wipe most of the time even with extra health. Why would you consider changing the maps to SPO?

I have always thought that playing no pills on 1st and finale on Parish is silly. The 1st chapter is extremely short but like every round is down to the tank fight, so if you kill the tank on that map you deserve maximum points (Its an easy level, there should be alot of people making saferoom). The finale is dumb luck on the 1st hole for the most part, doing no pills was something invented by top players so they wouldn't get clutched on by weaker teams. I think most people at this stage use the starters on these maps but it was always silly not to in my eyes.

The only reason people started playing SPO in the 1st place was because when confogl first came out there was too much health in chapters (think it was 6 pills and 2 shots) and people thought all health was too much, so it was either SPO or FYOH. We are still basically playing the way people thought was the best way to play when they had no experience of playing the mode.

Anytime I discuss with someone who is against all health, they either pick an obscure example where a team was "carried" by all health when they went way back in a map to pick up extra pills (They forget to mention the 1,000 games where both teams died in the same place every map) or just say SPO is plenty of health if you are smart and don't get raped.

The PC kids have numerous advantages over us as survivors, are taking twice the health we are, and are still wiping a tonne. They are currently debating increasing spawn times, adding more health, adding shots that give perm health and even adding back medkits(this was suggested by someone prominent in the community and was met with positive comments lol)
We for some reason think limiting health makes the game competitive but it doesn't. We are wiping on chapters I'd say, conservative estimate, 90% of the time with both teams dying at the same spot a large amount of these wipes. This leaves very little room to distinguish between both teams in terms of how well they played each round. Here is what most games of Dark Carnival comes down to, get a lead from the 1st or 2nd chapter, get to the coaster on 3rd, get at least to the button on 4th, and kill 1st tank on finale and crawl to 400 pts....We would be better off playing the 1st chapter 5 times instead of bothering with the other chapters.
