Wandering witch awareness

Post by redleafedwonder on February 19th 2010, 9:53 am

Anyone notice how hard it can be to startle the wandering witch in vs?? We've pulled and jockeyed people right up next to her and she hasn't woken up!! In general a witch in vs is a minor inconvenience rather than a real obstacle. Even when it's an exceptional team against a bad team. Any team worth half their salt will dispense with the witch with ease. Whether it's burning her or crowning her. I think they can do several things to help this problem:
1. She should wake up faster and when you're further away. Crowning the witch with an auto shottie should be a nerve racking chore. The margin of error for an auto shottie crown is way too wide!!!
2. She should run a lot faster when on fire. Players should have to make a near impossible mollie throw in order to out run her. I've burnt her from extremely close up and still managed to run to safety.
3. There was a witch in the middle of the crescendo run on DarCar4. She was seriously difficult to deal with. However this is easily the hardest spot I have ever seen her. If they put her in these much more difficult spots it would make her more of a challenge.
4. More wandering witches. Why does she only walk around in TP?? I know it's a daytime level but aren't emo chicks mostly nocturnal?
5. More than one per level. Considering how easy she can be to deal with, more than one per level would present more of a challenge.

Agreed to all. Witches in Crescendo events would be awesome. Honestly though, I just crown the bitch most of the time. I think SI should be able to startle the witch and then the witch attacks the SI. I mean if zombies are as stupid as we think they are, how do they know they're on the same team? Witch

Sometimes when a witch is kept awake by an SI she will turn and kill them. She will sometimes go for a person after that but mostly she just glitches out.

Another thing they could do is spawn more tanks around the same area a witch is. This only ever happened to me once in L4D1. It was crazy!! It would be awesome fighting a tank with a wandering witch as a roving x-factor!!

You people are monsters.

I played Sugar Mill today on realism,
Expert with two people today, and shot a common with a magnum.
Apparently the bullet flew through his skull, out the otherside,
pierced a WALL and alerted a Witch on the other side of that wall that
I didn't even know about. Next thing I know, I'm dead.

This is campaign though, since I got the Versus. Achievements, I haven't really been playing much Versus.

I'll admit the Tank and the Witch seemingly seem less terrifying this time round.

Witches in realism and expert are much more dangerous. I was referring more to vs mode. vs

I always say the witches in L4D1 are far more dangerous than the L4D2 ones.

I think the witches in L4D2 are severely depressed emo girls that just overreact when Survivors pass by them but don't actually do anything about it... other than continue with their suicidal thoughts.

How often do witches in l4d2 actually kill somebody in a vs game. I was playing l4d1 today and the Blood harvest 1 witch killed a survivor in 5 seconds with the rest of the team distracted and about 8 zombies beating the downed guy. If an l4d2 witch downs a teammate you can go to the kitchen to get a snack and there will still be time to kill her.

Seriously, the only thing that startles her is ACTUALLY shooting her. I went went up and T-bagged the witch for a few seconds, and nothing. Unfortunatly, a missplaced spot during a Tank fight made her revenge set in stone.
